About Rusty

Technique. Discipline. Evolution.

Rusty Cooley began playing guitar at 15 and quickly turned an obsession with technique, theory and musical growth into a lifelong pursuit. From Houston's music scene and winning the 1995 Guitar Master Series to embracing the 7-string guitar, forming Outworld and building an international reputation as a recording artist and educator, Rusty has spent decades pushing the boundaries of modern guitar playing.

Known for extraordinary technique and a disciplined approach to practice, Rusty's philosophy goes beyond speed: keep evolving, expand what is possible on the instrument and help other players push beyond their own limits.
